Describing the current use of technology in teaching in Turkey?
I would like to start answering the question with what exactly technology is.Creating tools, building up skills and extracting or collecting materials can be meaning what technology is. Also, it can include application of science to meet an aim or solve a problem. In other words, It can deepen student learning by supporting instructional objectives. When we look the current use of technology, there is a huge thing which people use technological tools in teaching. Lets have look at some of them;
- Online collaboration tools
- Course management tools
- Clickers and smartphones
- Lecture-capture tools etc.
When i think the current use of technology in teaching in Turkey, there is some problems in our teaching. That is why people are habituated to being lazy. Of course technology has contributed in teaching like expanding students' imagination ,but if it does not use in its purpose, it can not be helpful in teaching.
When you graduate and start teaching, what changes in the technology in education do you predict?
I think it will use more than current use of technology. In fact, everyone will be forced to use of technlogy because of the acclimatization.
Will the new technology make your job as a teacher easier or more difficult?
I think some times easier some times more difficult.It can change the aim of what exacly do in the lesson.For example, as i am a computer teacher it is probably more easier for me.
Yeah sure i don't think that education system in Turkey has some problem. As you mentioned in your text, technological materials should be used in the right purpose. People can be lazy because of technology ,on the other hand,it gives people different ideas to have imagination,creation and so on,
ReplyDeletei don't think that we will be using more technological materials in our classroom because you cant change many things in classroom. Yes definitely ,i aggre with your opinion,sometimes can make easy to teach lessons by using technological devices , sometimes it wont help,
I aggre with you totally but there are some things that I dont aggre with you. Yes the technology makes people lazy but this is not peoples erros. This is totally because of the educational system of the Turkey. If the system gives to students effectively using technology in Turkey , this will be more better.

You said that technology makes our job as a teacher sometimes easier sometimes more difficult. I have a question in this situation. When technology makes more difficult our job?
ReplyDeleteThank you Zeynep for your comment. As i mentioned abow,it can change of the aim of what exacly do in the lesson. I mean if we think the other teachers such as math, it must be more difficult for them. They can use the technology but limited way. As a computer teacher , of couse, it is more easy. I hope you understand me now :)
