Research Question

How much feedback do teachers give to the learners? How do teachers provide this feedback?

Unluckily, most of the students have almost identical educational experiences like mine every day. That is the question comes to my mind. "Why is that most of the teachers think that giving feedback must be negative and restorative? Because of the only way students will learn. I dont think so. The only thing I have learn from past to now is that no matter how much I prepared myself to do something, it was bound to be disaster.

So what exactly is feedback? It is any reaction from a teacher notice to a student's performance or behavior. It can be verbal, written or body language. Improving students' performance is the purpose of feedback in the learning process. Students can able to say this " Yes, I can do this". That is the goal.

If I give an example about that I hated public speaking and I can do anything to do get out of it.But I think now I disposed of this thing because first of all, most of the time my teachers give to me encourage and positive feedback about that. Second of all , I need to get rid this feeling because of I will become a teacher at the end.

There are several way to giving feedback by teachers. I want to touch on them. Feedback should be given in a timely manner. What does that mean? Actually, students reacts positively and remember the experience about learned in a fearless manner when feedback is given as soon as after showing proof of learning. If teachers wait too long time to give feedback, students cannot connect the feedback with the action. I have an experience like that most of the time.

As I mentioned above feedback can be given verbally, in written form or using body language. When teachers are giving feedback, they should control their frowns. Facial expressions and body language also means of delivering feedback. Another way to give students feedback is that educate them on how to give feedback each other. For example, in CTE216 class, we have many experiences about that. We have discussed a subject and then we have written blog post about the subject. And at the end we have commented our blogs in a positive and helpful way. That is the model for students what appropriate feedback looks like.

Lastly, I want to touch on. Teachers should be sensitive to the singular needs of the students while giving feedback. Our classrooms are full of various learners. Teachers should be provide a balance between students. It helps to students' feelings to affect better. Because some students need to be stimulated to achieve at a higher level and the others need to be handled politely. Instead of discourage them and damage their self-esteem, teachers should encourage them and improve their self-esteem.

So, There are some sources that I am impressed. First one is a video. And the second one is a caricature.

Finally, I want to write about action research. There are some aspects that my research question. When I investigate my research topic, I would investigate it in five step. First of all, I determine a way of learning about the classroom and it is important that action research requires starting well. Secondly, designing a study is another important part to avoid some questions to which answer is known already. And it is needed that question should be developed. Thirdly, making sense of experience contribute to look my data and analysis. So that I can take into consideration tools when I peek them. I can decide whether it is useful or not. Improving practice is another significant part. It requires that rethink, the change and the results. The final step is beginning again. What does that mean? When developing questions, it comes out as a new and better questions.

Have you had teachers or educational experiences that promoted a growth mindset, or in  your experience, were you mostly praised and rewarded for success and getting high grades?  How has your experience influenced your current outlook on life?

Actually, my teachers were lead to brave us to do something. I think that it was sometimes effective sometimes not. The advantage is that it was  really impress my thinking way because of achiving the point. Forcing our brain gets something good.

And I was not mostly rewarded for success and gets to me high grades. Some of teachers are not do this.
Therefore, Promoted a growth mindset would develop yourself. Praise and reward is just  braving ourself on some issue and I think that it brings advantages for them better efforts, prosess and failure, results.

Constructivist approaches in teaching

I think, Sarabinh’s approach is consistent with a constructivist learning philosophy. There are, ofcourse advantages of having students develop this process. This process leads to critical thinking, and creates motivated and independent learners. Thats why, learners are involved in active way.If I think about environment,it is also democratic. The activities are interactive and student-centered. Shortly, students are actively involved, rather than passively absorbing information.

However, there are some disadvantages of constructivist learning theory that is its lack of structure. Some students require highly structured environments in order to be able to shine. Also, another disadvantage is that it can lead student to be confused or disapointed that is why, they may not have the ability to form relationships and abstracts between the knowledge they already have and the knowledge they are learning for themselves.

When I become a teacher, I feel comfortable using such an approach. That is because this approach has specific learning goals. Having the students specific answer, open-ended question ,analyzing a case study, undertaking a long-term plan or analyzing a problem with multiple plan.

Designing instructional activities: differentiated instruction

Basically, teachers must think about students' strength when they plan instructions. That is why planing lessons based on students’ learning styles. When students feel confident themselves, they become more willing to do something in the lesson.

When I was in high school which is technical high school, I had a English teacher ( who is graduated from ODTU Ankara). She was aware of  my willing to learning English. So, she always keeps saying that "yes, I see you can learn English language easily so it is my advice that when you graduate from high school, do not drop out learning English." On the other hand, I also was willing to do something about computer. And This approach helped me to find what I really wanted. So, this brings to me here. Not only study computer education  and instructional technology but also I study it in English.I had take this kind of risk and I produce something new goal about my self.

I will support my student to take risk that is why taking risk has advantages and disadvantages so students need to know about them for the future. They will understand and find the "good" way while they taking risk. Once again, taking risk get the reinforce and achievement.

Collaboration with Colleagues

Actually, most of students study alone instead of collaborating with peers  and it is shown that engaging in collaborative learning and group study perform better academically.Collaborating comes with improving communication skills, educational experience and enhancing self-esteem.ın addition my aspects  is that I have been some experience about that and it is really increase my skills as I mentioned the other sentence. It improve my communication skils and educational experience. For example, last semester we took CTE-207 course and I come together  with my group members, we share our works in a way. We were working together on our project. So,I collaborate with my peers when we were doing project. Also, it was  really effective for us. I have benefited in any ways similar to ann and jenerra  who is from video. Moreover,my current strength is active participant  in the teaching/learning process. And my weakness is that sometimes, I want to  study alone instead of collaborating with my peers because i think that i do not have enough time. To develop our collaborating skills, we can spare some time to come together with our peers, being effective a group member, explaining our own ideas, trusting, supporting ideas each others and respecting each other.
