I think, Sarabinh’s approach is consistent with a constructivist learning
philosophy. There are, ofcourse advantages of having students develop this process. This process leads to critical thinking, and creates motivated and independent learners. Thats why, learners are involved in active way.If I think about environment,it is also democratic. The activities are interactive and student-centered. Shortly, students are actively involved, rather than passively absorbing information.
However, there are some disadvantages of constructivist learning theory that is its lack of structure. Some students require highly structured environments in order to be able to shine. Also, another disadvantage is that it can lead student to be confused or disapointed that is why, they may not have the ability to form relationships and abstracts between the knowledge they already have and
the knowledge they are learning for themselves.
When I become a teacher, I feel comfortable using such an approach. That is because this approach has specific learning goals. Having the students specific answer, open-ended question ,analyzing a case study, undertaking a long-term plan or analyzing a problem with multiple plan.
